Phone scams continue…
Some of our customers have reported that they have received a random phone call from someone offering to help remove a virus or malware from their computer.
At some point in the conversation the caller will ask you to download some software called Team Viewer – Don’t do it!
Team Viewer is a great tool to give someone remote access to your computer but in the wrong hands it can be used to access everything on your computer from Social Media accounts, emails to passwords & bank details etc.
- NEVER download software called ‘Team Viewer‘ when asked to by someone on the phone.
- NEVER give passwords out when asked to by someone on the phone.
The caller may claim to be calling from BT or even your bank, If you have any doubts about the callers identity, end the call and contact the bank your self (Don’t call a number suggested by the caller).
If you think you do have malware or an infection on your computer, there is plenty of free software out there that can be used to check and remove it…

If you do have an infection on your computer and you’re unable to remove, a factory restore can reset it back to how it was when you first purchased the computer.
If you want peace of mind & you are unsure how to do this, for a small fee TechGuy can do this for you.
